By now you all probably know that I love to cook. I also love my desserts. BUT.... I am not a baker and making those desserts has always been very intimidating to me. I remember about twenty years ago I really wanted to try something different and came across this particular recipe. It sounded easy enough especially since I wouldn't have to bake my own pie crust. I'm happy to tell you that it came out perfect and I've been making it ever since.
Here's what you'll need:
1/2 cup Hershey's Cocoa
1 1/4 cups sugar
1/3 cup cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups milk
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 baked 9-inch pie crust - cooled
In a medium sauce pan stir together cocoa, sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add milk, stirring until smooth. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil; boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in butter and vanilla. Pour into prepared crust. Press plastic wrap on top. Cool at room temperature then refrigerate 6 to 8 hours.
Enjoy :)
